Running multiple linux distros

Hi, I want to run 3 different linux distributions: a mainstream everyday one, a dedicated server one, and an experimental one. I need some advice on how I should set it up. How should I partition it? In what order should I install them? Which partitions/mounts should/can I share?

Thanks for answering my questions.

Then only mount point I would share would be home. But you may want ot create a data partition and only share that.

When you install the last 2 distros don't install any bootloaders to the mbr. Just use the one you install with the first distro to boot the rest.

Well, I plan on installing SuSe 9 for the mainstream. I'm not quite sure on the server distro as of yet. The experimental one will probably be either slackware or debian.

Would there be any difference if I split the swap into two partitions (say one for mainstream and experimental distro, and the bigger one for the server)? And, how does 3GB sound for a swap. Too big?

Thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

Oops - I forgot about swap!

3GB seems a lot it depends on the size of your ram. There isn't much point in hacing 2 swap partitions since you are only going ot use one OS at a time so they can use the same partition.
