rsync+continue from disconnected file


Dear friends,
Is there an option to enable rsync file transfer to continue where it left off?
such as when i half transfer file get disconnected if i wish to continue from where it left off?

thanks for helping!

Well, I've never actually tried it, otoh though, one of the main features of rsync is that it normally only sends the difference (ie changes) between the src and tgt files, so it might work.
I suggest you give it a try, maybe on a test file first?

With most/all linux programs, you can learn about the options by using the manual pages or help pages. If you just type rsync, you should see that one option is partial. I just use the P which is the same thing and I think that is the one you want.
Code:
     --partial               keep partially transferred files

for example:
rsync -vP rsync://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/iso/FC4-i386-rescuecd.iso .
