Possible to make money writing about/how-to's linux?

So, just wondering, as I now know so much about Linux and am a writer anyway.
Would like to have at least supplemental income maybe writing articles or how-to's concerning various Linux subjects.

Is this possible?
If so, who to write for?

Are there any magazines, etc that pay for Linux articles?

Thanks

Take a look in your nearest large bookstore---there should be at least 3 different linux mags. It's a safe bet that at least some of the authors get paid.

The issue that you may face is how to differentiate yourself from everyone else out there.

One of the absolute best tutorialologists is here:
http://www.grymoire.com/Unix/

Is he making money from his Google ads? I don't know.

I thought I was going to make a fortune with the deep insights into booting and grub (on my website). Then I saw Saikee's work and gave up all hope.......

Mmm
thats kinda what I thought...

Thanks for your answers

I'm just so tired of the 7-3:30 or sometimes 5:30 job!

My skills are better served as a writer; which is fiction writing really.
But, I know alot about mixing together distro's, how to setup almost (source mage? nah)
any distro.

I actually work for Von Holtzbrink Publishers, as a packer/lead.
it sucks as my true vocation is cabinetry and fine furniture construction.

I am tired of all the splinters and spinning saw blades as well

Maybe someday I'll get a fiction work published?

Right now I'm finishing my Official Multidistro.com DVD/USB and wish I could use my knowledge
to at least make something

There are various online publishers who do have a staff and who pay for material. It can be done.

99% sure that it's a spammer; necropost with zero relevant content, among other things. Reported as such.
