Pii through a very old TV
My daughter wants her own box but we haven't got space for another monitor. She's become pretty unreasonable about things - she found an old Pentium two box of mine and started to refer to it as her computer and asking "when will it work????"
It's now got Debian on it and I've beefed it up with 384 megs of ram but there really is no space for another monitor in my house and this box is not in the same room as another monitor. It's now running with a wierd device attached that converts vga output to ???? rgb ???? / television standard. It works well but the resolution is *terrible* ---- I want to work out how to set output up so that it maximises my three year old's web experience. At the moment, we're using 640x480 but that feels too clumsy. Is that it or is there more to play with???? She was so happy tonight as she watched me exploit apt-get to do a dist-upgrade and ssh to log in to my server.
"What do you mean you are downstairs?" she shouted, " I don't want to log in downstairs. Can I go on the Internet now????? On my computer."
Please help. I know that I'll be in trouble if I don't sort this out. Also, she'll keep insisting that my beautiful desktop is hers and I can't refuse her!!!
