Finally

michaelk,

Restart today said install apache2, so ran apt install apache2.

That gave a config error pointing to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default.conf, so copied the old file in my backups into that directory and restarted with no errors. The default "localhost" page came right up so now working on the phpmyadmin install.

Maybe I'll be there today! Will mark this solved when phpmyadmin installs correctly.

Thanks for all the help!

Cheers!

michaelk,

Well phpmyadmin is having problems. I says put in the include statement
Code:
Include /etc/phpmyadmin/apache2.conf
Thought all the HOWTOs are totally wrong, but found an error while writing this, now apache2 restarts no errors but the phpmyadmin page does not come up.

I'll close this thread as solved and open another on my phpmyaqdmin issues. Don't know what to do next when there are no errors, but page is not rendering in FireFox.

Cheers!

TBNK
