Question Opening files in the same window

I'm pretty sure I saw this topic somewhere once upon a time, but I don't seem to remember a solution. I open 'computer' to read a floppy & get the whole file system in another window, then go to 'media' or 'mnt' & open the floppy and by the time I get where I want, I've got 3 o 4 or 5 windows open, all getting in each others way and that I later have to close individually. There is a way to reuse the same window, isn't there?????? Sure would be neater. Running suse, slack, ubuntu, fedora, & they all do the same thing (except for windoz). Any new news? Thanks in advance for any info at all.

yes if you using nautilus (gnome) then just have a look in your nautilus settings.

I've been looking for a solution to this question too. Unless I'm blind, there's nothing in the Nautilus prefs that helps.

Smile Opening files in the same window

Open yr nautilus browser, click on behavior tab and check the "always open in browser windows" box. Works like a champ. Thanks kernel_geek!!
