NEWBIE : Please how to distribute a shared or static library with a rpm

Hi,

I'm quite new in LINUX world so be sure that any suggestion or hint will be welcomed.

The main problem is how to make a distribution file for a static or shared library the distribution file must contain only the .la or .a and the public header file?

I explain at which point I am and what I have done for the moment.

I have developped an application under KDevelop 2.1 but now I have to make a distribution for a part of this application.

I searched in KDevelop how to do this and find that I have to create an application, in this application create a subfolder in which I have to put all the source files needed for the library (it was said that KDevelop automatically make the library if the sources are located in a sub folder of the application).

So, I have done a new project put my library sources in a subfolder compiled and all is OK i have correctly the .a and .la files created.

Then, how to distribute this library. How be sure that other needed libraries (pthread) will be installed, what is the correct way to do a distribution and with what (KDevelop,...) ??

Thanks a lot
