Question Multiple users of same name with 'users' command.

Hi.

The users command outputs 5 instances of my username. Why is this? A few days ago, there were 8 instances.

See
Code:
man users
or users --help
The users command gives the name so fthose users logged on to the system, so if you have more than one login shell running ( you almost certainly do ) you will get multiple outputs of your name, for instance as of now I have 9 login shells, it's quite normal.

Is it normal for more than one login shell to be running? I ran a vm of Debian and the user command lists just 1 user.

too it depends on if the terminal is set to 'run command as login shell' on some of these terminals one uses, or is it open as login shell???

if I open a bunch of xterms I get more me's, if I open more xfce4 terminals it does not add more me's
