Question Man Pages (Linux 7.2) -- Disappeared

Something strange happened on my way to fooling around with the dump command this morning. I am in the process of writing a script for backups, and was referring back to the man pages. Now for some strange reason, "I'm sure I had something to do with it" I cannot retrieve any information from man on any and all subject matters.

Example: man dump

Response: No manual entry for dump

Is there a quick way I can once again get my man pages working?

Thanks in advance.

check and see what what the manpath is:
/usr/bin/manpath

also make sure that the man page for dump ( for 7.2 it should be /usr/share/man/man8/dump.8.gz ) I think.

now see if man -w finds the said file.
