As I write this I'm in the process of getting my butt kicked by Linux. I have all my other OS's installed and working now I'm trying to install RedHat 7.1. I have RedHat 6.2 on 2 CD's but I'd like to install 7.1. So I went to a reputable mirror and downloaded the disc1 and disc2 .iso files to a machine. Then I burned them both to CDROM, both in Juliet from and then back to ISO9660 file system types. But neither version will boot from my CDROM. I know the CDROM is bootable because I installed 98 and NT from booting from the CDROM. I know Linux boot disk can see the CDROM because when I choose install from CDROM it starts spinning the CDROM but I keep getting the "I can't find a Red Hat CDROM in your CDROM" error. If I boot from a floppy, then do I use the .iso CD's or should I use the regular Linux CD's? What's the difference?
I'm in the process of downloading the regular CD's from a mirror but I'm pissed off that the install won't boot from the CDROM. Do I need anything on the first CD other than the first .iso file?
Thanks for any help/ideas.
John
