Leaving X...


How would I exit into the terminal.

If you bootup and use startx to well, start X then a simple ctrl-alt-backspace will kill X and bring you back to a terminal or console.

You can also from your menu logout of X by well, logging out.

If you boot into X for a graphical login, you can do a simple ctrl-alt-F2 thru F6 to come to a console login, etc.

From there if you want to kill X from running, a simple init 3 will put you in runlevel 3.

I did some searching on this forum.... Searched for 'quitting X' and found this thread - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ght=quitting+X

Try Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. If it doesn't work, read all the messages on the thread or do some more searching.
