Konqueror and amaroK broken under SuSE 10.0 KDE 3.4.2 level "b"

Hi,
I have SuSE 10.0 with KDE 3.4.2 and when I start Konqueror I get two error messages (both the same):

There was an error loading the module About-Page for Konqueror.
The diagnostics is:
/usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by /opt/kde3/lib/libkhtml.so.4)

and also when I start amaroK it goes through the splash screen and stuff but just doesn't come up (not in the system tray).
I recently downgraded gcc from 4.0.2 to 3.4.6 to compile MPlayer and I think this might have something to do with it.

I am installing gcc 4.1.1 as I write this and if it works I will say so and the moderators can get rid of this post if they want to.

installed gcc 4.1.1 and rebooted - everything works fine.
