Kernel Roll Back

Hi All,

I have just installed the new kernel via YOU on my SuSE 9.2, but now, I have to go back and use the old kernel which is still in my system but if i check in the boot directory I can not see the vmlinux, initrd and systemmap files.

Which is the quickest way to rollback?

Thanks in advance guys.

Look on your install CDs and find the rpm for the kernel that came with SuSE 9.2. It is probably on the first install CD. Mount the CD and use this command to find the various kernel rpms:
find /media/cdrecorder -iname "*kernel*"

Once you find the original kernel rpm install that rpm with the rpm command. The command will be something similar to:
rpm -Uh /media/cdrecorder/kernel-default-2.6.5-7.147.i586.rpm

See:
man rpm
