i bought suse linux 7.1 and installed.
when i boot linux with lilo it gives me the following
error..

Partition Check:
hdc: [PTBL] [823/32/63] hdc1 hdc2 <hdc5 hdc6>

...autorun DONE

Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:05

history:
first i installed suse on my windows partitioned hard
drive, every thing was working fine. then i purchase
a 30 gb hard drive installed it as secondary master.
then i removed the linux partition from the first
hardisk. at this point i booted the system still the
lilo screen came up even thoug i removed linux
totally.

then i installed linux in my new secorndary master
harddrive. in the installation process it installed
the lilo again. when i tried boot the system lilo
screen came up then i selected the suse after some
time the same error came.

is it becasue my old lilo still sitting in the boot
sector.?

detail of my system

processor pentium II mmx 400 mgz
ram 256 mb
other os running on my machine windows 98

any help will be greatly appriciated
