Is there a way to view all workspaces on one monitor screen simultaneously?
I'm wondering if there's a way to edit the XF86Config or gnome configs to show all workspaces at once using a single huge monitor. I don't want to use xinerama or multiple monitors. Just think it'll be nice to have a splitscreen showing all activity in all workspaces. What other options / programs / utils are there to simultaneously view all the contents of all the workspaces? Thanks!
You mean like a full-screen chooser? I don't
quite understand the point of your undertaking,
though. If you want to see everything, and have
the card and monitor and CPU with enough grunt
to run a 2048x1600 resolution on a 28", why don't use
one desktop? :) ... I mean, if you had a 21", running
on 1024x768, you couldn't possbily decipher anything
that's going on on those 4 desktops in the first place.
I heard that Solaris had that feature. I know its not really a good method for a desktop, but it's good to monitor what's going on simultaneously. Just wondering if there's any way at all that this can be accomplished. For example, if there were four workspaces, then the screen would be split into 4 windows each monitoring a workspace. Thanks for your reply!
