Internet Hard-drive? i.e. Server Drive?

Would it be possible to mount my home directory on a remote server that is controled by some company thousand's of miles away as a HDD on my PC? Kinda like a network drive, except it's virtual, on the internet?
Is this possible?

Wouldn't be impossible, only thing is, you'd have to check with this provider in what they allow. Most logical way would be to setup a VPN, but check with this provider for details, they probably don't want you to mount your own drives to this machine, unless your paying for a remote located server that is not shared amongst others besides yourself.

Ok, I think I'll check with them. I guess this is not recommended, huh? I was just wondering because it would way easier to acces that way, instead of using a FTP-client or doing it from their control panel.

Most Host providers that host using Linux allow ssh connections for their customers. If this is true, learn to use rsync or scp or sftp, makes copying files to and from a breeze and it's more secure, instead of using ftp.
