Install Older Kernel with yum

Hello,

I want to install an "older" custom kernel than the FC4 one that i have installed at the moment using yum. However, yum will not let me do this because of the fact that the version is older than the one that i have installed at the moment. How do i resolve this problem without removing my "newer" kernels.
Cheers
Graham

Since it is an older package and custom at that, it is not going to be in the yum repos out there anyway.
So, your best option is to just use rpm with --oldpackage.
Code:
 man rpm
   install-options
       .... [--oldpackage] ....
Something like this should work...
rpm -ivh --oldpackage my-kernel-bunch-of-numbers.rpm

Well it's a custom kernel from CCRMA, so it is in the yum CCRMA repo. Yum downloads it fine but it won't install it. Any ideas?

So, just use the rpm command on the rpm which is downloaded or, if you know the web site, you can use a commmand like this...
Code:
rpm -ivh --oldpackage ftp://ftp.some-site.com/my-kernel-bunch-of-numbers.rpm

Cheers, that did. Should have realised that yum simply downloads the rpm. Bit stupid of me. Thanks for your help.
