.htaccess

Hello all -

I have a directory that's password protected with an .htaccess file. I'd like one of the directories beneath that directory to be completely public (no username/password) How do I do that? If I make an allow-all .htaccess file, it should work right?

Thanks.

AFAIK this won't work. Its still going to read the .htaccess from the upper level directory.

Why not just make this directory public not as a subdirectory but also have a link to the directory in your .htaccess'd directory as well?
