Exclamation How to create rescue diskette?

Hello there! I need to create rescue diskette, but not in Linux, because I can't boot my Linux OS! My PC rebooting every time when system trying to load Grab loader. Can I create Linux (RedHat 4 enterprise) rescue diskette in Windows, or maybe there's another solution that can be done?

I'd recommend just using a linux boot CD - you could download knoppix , which is a featureful, bootable linux CD that runs a whole system - this would let you mount your old hard drive, fix the master boot record, mess with configuration files, or whatever it is you need to do to fix it.

Also, often your original linux install CD doubles as a rescue disk.

If you really want to get a rescue floppy, I'd search for a floppy disk image of one online, then you can download a program for windows that will let you use the disk image to make a bootable floppy disk.

Just get the original distribution-CD. That's as good a rescue-disk as any. Then figure out what's wrong with /grub.conf, and check that you did in fact install grub properly. (Sounds like you didn't quite.)

Floppy... as in 3-1/2 or 5-1/4? Bah. Humbug. That's what CD-ROMs are for.

Hey! Sometimes you want a floppy, not a cdrom. For that, use tomsrtbt.
