How can I find/change default X font?

I have following problem -- I have installed some new fonts (with national charset support) and I want to use it with X. I can use new fonts in following way:

xterm -fn terminus-iso8859-2-14

but how can I set this font as a default font for all applications? And how can I find what a font is used for (e.g.) xterm? vim? etc.?

I use XFree 4.3.

Thanks in advance.
sc.
