Question How BIG are "Big files" in "XFS is the best with big files"?

Hello, I've been using XFS for more than 5 years now and, since then, I always have been hearing "XFS is the best with big files" but now metrics are different than then making "big files" of 6 years ago may be not that big now.

does some one knows what is the size for files from which XFS begins to show a better performance?

in other words "how big WAS big (talking on MB not inches)?"

years ago I used to use XFS only for my "Video and music" and for "iso" partitions but now that technology and hard drives have been improved even the "Pictures" and "gzip" folders might fit into such "Big files" range.

Hi,

the big file refers to older filesystem limitation. Normaly you can say > 2GB is a big file.
