Angry Help! PCLOS User Splash Screen Hangs; which corrupted files do I go to fix?

Hello - Running PCLOS 2009. I was in the middle of downloading a file in one session and went to start a new session. Both sessions froze. The user with the problem (call him foo) was in middle of the splash screen when it froze. I didn't realize I ran out of disk space (I was later able to return to the first user and I had 900MB free, really low for this system, and I was trying to download about 4GB). The splash for 'foo' gave an error message - I wish I had written it down -

Now I cannot get into that user; the splash just hangs on the first little icon on the bottom. I have root and two other users (a guest and another one I use.) Those both work fine. It's just 'foo' that looks like it's been corrupted.

I did an fsck from a liveCD and it found 2 superblocks with dates in the future which I let it fix. This didn't fix anything with 'foo'.

The whole rest of the system works fine and even 'foo' works fine in a console session; none of its files look like they have any problems; I can even go into root or the other non-root user and browse /home/foo and open the files there fine.

What would be the best option? I make regular backups onto a USB drive with drakbackup (included with PCLOS) but do I restore the system or this user? I'd like to avoid having to create a new user, copy all the /home/foo files over, and have to reconfigure everything again - or worse, copy blown files and end up with the same problem.

If I want to go in and restore specific config files (or edit them), what would those be and in what directory(ies) would they be? I don't want to copy old user's files that are bad, into the new user, and get the same problem. I'm guessing its not anything to do with X or KDE since these both run fine with the other users. Wouldn't be the boot options either since GRUB works fine, it's just that user, it just hangs and won't go any farther - but it's not a total system freeze, I still have the mouse etc.

Any suggestions?

For what it's worth; however, when I discovered the error, I went and moved about 2GB of files out to the usb disk. The problem still persists.

[root@localhost ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 33G 28G 4.1G 88% /
none 121M 0 121M 0% /dev/shm
[root@localhost ~]#
^^^at the time of the crash
this was 900MB for /dev/hda1
Here's "dmesg" too; it's very long, so I posted it here: http://pastebay.com/73686 - and enter this password: "penguinator" - I can't see anything in there other than wlan and firewall related messages - unless I missed something?.
