Question Grub - how do I change which partition is used to find menu.lst

I have installed numerous different versions on my large hard disk
drive. The last linux distro that I install is the one where grub finds
the menu.lst file to use. In order to boot my other partitions, I edit
menu.lst to contain the lines from the menu.lst files on other partitions.
Is there a way to change which partition grub looks at to find the
menu.list file??? I would like to change it back to my /dev/hda1. Thanks.

As root you need to do
# grub
It will search your system for a while then pop-up the grub CLI. Then do:
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
grub> quit

This will reset the MBR part of grub to look for the next stage's and the menu.list in hda1.
