Post GNOME management of Menu for users on the same box

Hi,

When installing a box with linux for say a family, each with their own account. When each member logs on, one would want to control the menu options they can see, i.e. not necessary for them to see all the setup & configuration utilities.

Is there an easy way to do this once, centrally such that the family members only see menu options necessary for them?

Well Mandrake has MenuDrake to alter the menus, but that can only set different menus for each environment, and a seperate set for root. I dont know if you can alter the default menu layout for many users automatically.
If you worked out what file the info was stored in within someone's home directory, maybe you could just copy the file to others and change ownership. Maybe have to change a few name references within it?

Yeah. Kind of. If you go to freedesktop.org and read the menu spec, you might be able to edit the menu config files to limit things on a per user basis like that....
