Gnome Launcher Problem

When I issue the command 'dosbox -conf ~/DOSBox/dosbox.conf' from CLI, DOSBox loads as expected.

When I place the exact same command into a Gnome launcher, DOSBox loads, but doesn't load the dosbox.conf file.

What is the difference?

I don't use GNOME much and it's not running right now so I can't answer these questions, but:

1. Does it normally respect CL arguments?
2. Does it normally expand ~? (Remember, this could be passed to the shell via a process with a different id), ie, have you tried "/home/me/whatever"?

A long complex command with spaces will usually
not work in a launcher ( = file.desktop ).
And ~ will often not work in a launcher too.

The method is : Make an executable script with
the command and copy it to /usr/local/bin/

#! /bin/sh
exec <long - command>

And use 'script.sh' as the command in the launcher.
.....
