fstab changes for USB DVD+RW lost on reboot
I have an old motherboard that does not support USB during boot, but does allow USB to be started during system initialization. My system is Fedora FC1.
I can add USB 2.0 devices such as a DVD+RW and a CDRW to fstab, and use the User Mount Tool to mount and unmount. However, if I reboot, the lines in fstab for these devices disappear, and I have to add them again.
Why does this happen? I guess I could bypass the problem by executing a script during system initialization, but I would prefer to fix the problem permanently. How?
