hi,

m trying to use the make menuconfig command to customise the kernel compilation to the ARM board that i m using...

at first i got an error saying Ncurses libraries not found....
then i atp -get install Ncurses and installed the ncurses libraries...to which i got the following response:

Reading package lists....Done
Building dependency tree...Done
E: Couldnt find package Ncurses

In the build directory, i can see the Makefile.ncurses file...
so i said make menu config again, but this time i get an error saying:

>> Unable to find the Ncurses libraries.
>>
>> You must have Ncurses installed in order
>> to use 'make menuconfig'


What should i do next?

try apt-get install libncurses5-dev

You could always try 'make xconfig' if you really can't get ncurses working.

yeah did that..turns out the gcc that i was using was screwed..thanks for you help anyway!
