eroaster and gtoaster error

When i use eroaster or gtoaster (I agree acid kewpie - eroater looks much more logical!!!) I get the foloowing error -

cdrecord: Operation not permitted> WARNING: Cannot do mlockall(2)

WARNING: Cannot set RR-scheduler
WARNING: Cannot set priority using setpriority()

This is just an edited version of the whole error text.
What do I need to do?

I thought I was so close to getting rid of Xcdroast!!

this error is obviously not application related as you are getting it from the programs. check the ful output to track down which program it is comming from.. presumably it is somewhere from inside cdrecord, check you've got the newest version installed, and try using cdrecord from the command line to verify it's operation. the app might not be cdrecord of course.. just keep looking. eroater [sic] rox.

It looks like a permission problem, try it as root and see if you get the same errors.

Everything runs fine as root. I just don't quite know where to go from here - if it is a permissions question - is it permissions with cdrecord or with "mlockall(2)"? Or with eroa*s*ter?
When I type cdrecord in a terminal, I just get a list of options. Is that normal?
Thanks

yeah, options are normal. if you don't give it anything to actaully do, what else could it do? ok, yes looking at my cdrecord it's set as suid:

208K -rwsr-sr-x 1 root cdwriter 201K Feb 28 15:30 /usr/bin/cdrecord*

so.... chmod a+s /usr/bin/cdrecord

Thanks a million acid kewpie.
I did exactly that and now eroaster is mine!!
It seems very fast compared to x-cdroast.
