Do i have unpartitioned space?

Hi Guys,

I recently did a short redhat linux course, part of the course was partitioning using fdisk. The course was very fast paced and i'm still a little stuck with something.

One of the things we were asked to do was issue the command:

fdisk -l

we were then asked to calculate the free 'unpartitioned' space on the drive using the output of the command above. Below is the output:

*************************************************************************************************

Disk /dev/hda: 100.0 GB, 100030242816 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 12161 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 1020 8193118+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 1021 10429 75577792+ f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 1021 8669 61440561 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda6 8670 9434 6144831 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda7 10328 10429 819283+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda8 9435 10326 7164958+ 83 Linux

Partition table entries are not in disk order

*************************************************************************************************

How do i calculate the free unpartitioned space using this information?

I know this may be a basic problem, but i have very limited linux experience.

any help would be much appreciated

Thanks....
