DNS zone file question

In installing DNS server, do i have to create a zone file ? if yes how to do that ? Thanks

Look at your /etc/named.conf file. It should point to a couple file in the /var/named directory. The are named something like domian.com.hosts and 192.168.0.0.rev. Those are the foward and reverse mapping file. That is where you put your static info in.

If you google setting up bind, there will be plenty of how to's on setting up a DNS server.

Hi, my DNS server is only caching server, not hosting any site. Still need to setup ?
