I'm so sorry to be bothering all of you but I need an opinion, any ideas will be tried. I'm a slight Linux Newbie so you'll have to excuse me and tell me things step by step.
I'm using Mandrake Linux 8 on an HP Pavilion Notebook N3190... that's a 466 (or somewhere therabouts) Mhz Intel Celeron Processor, a Silicon Motion Linx EM video card, and a 1024x768 14.1 inch laptop screen, if you need any other stats just let me know.
This is my problem. No matter which X (KDE or Gnome) I use, whenever I scroll down on pages, select objects, or open programs or windows, colors are all over the screen, it's like the image sticks there and when i try to view things, for instance scroll down, the items turn different colors then get split all over the screen, and when I try to open a program the menus on top are covered with different colored stripes.
Please can someone help me, I've been working real hard, and I'm about to give up, because I can't do anything when things are all over the screen!
Thank you so very much!
Sincerely,
Jenny
