Question Cups driver for a BCL D110 Direct Thermal Label Printer

Good day everyone,

I have been looking for a compatible CUPS driver for a BCL D110 Direct Thermal Label printer as I have recently made the switch from Windows to Linux completely and i have a printer that i use for shipping labels that needs a CUPS driver. I found one for Mac but when i installed it to my mac it printed a test label incorrectly and i couldn't figure out the correct settings. Ive had the printer for a little less than a year and if i cant find a compatible driver then ill need to replace it. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

A quick search didn't find anything and the one review on Amazon was that the driver didn't work. I have a Brother QL1110NWB label printer and it supports driverless ipp everywhere so it basically works out of the box if running a fairly recent linux distribution. It is also a thermal printer and the print quality is ok.

You are in luck. The BCL website is offline but I have this exact printer and have been using it on linux for years. Here is a link to the drivers.

Some tips:
If printing from a 8x11 pdf and cropping to 4x6 is needed, the snapshot tool from adobe-reader can be used to set a desired region to print without needing to edit the pdf.

GIMP can also be used but it is tedious as the pdf has to be cropped and converted to black and white 1 bit color palette.

If you try to use screenshot tools such as Xfce4-screenshooter the print will come out blurry or with jagged lines.
