I'm using 10M broadband, in windows I downloaded the same file which I've just downloaded in linux, the speed was 8M/s, but in linux it was just 300K/s! what's wrong with my linux box? Thanx
8M/sec = 8Mb/sec = 8 Mega bites/second... (notice the "I" instead of Y)
company like to confuse people with stupid count. A bit is 8 time smaller than a Bytes. Company like to abuse of ignorant people like that... If you divide 8Mb by 8 (8 bit in a Bytes) you get a real speed of 1MB/sec. Very close of your 800k/sec, isn't it?
thank you for teaching me so much, I'm sorry that I made a mistake on my connection speed. but now I have a new problem, sometimes I start my linux, it fails to get the ip address by dhcp, I don't know why, no matter how many times I reboot my computer, it's still like this. unless I delete eth0 and create a new one, then it comes to normal.
