Avantgo-style download for PC offline browsing?

Is there a program that allows you to download web pages for offline viewing onto a PC (notebook) similar to Avantgo on handhelds? What I would like would be a software that I can choose what sites to download and the hyperlink depth to download on those sites. Thanks!

PS - If there isn't one, any ideas on how to write a linux script to do this?

Try wget. Does exactly what you want, ie, downloading a website to a certain level of recursion and keeping the directory structure intact.

HTTrack is another good one. Very configurable and there's a web-based gui available for it so you can set everything up while browsing.

There's also a Windows version, if you're at all interested.
