Autostart X applications

Where would be a good place to add a KDE-application that should start automatically after X is started?

From the KDE menu, drag the icon for the app, and drop on into /home/<username>/.kde/Autostart to create a link to the app to autostart.

Works great, but it leads to a follow-up question:

If I want to start the program with specific command-line arguments, how should I do?
Actually, a script would be nice - a file which contents would execute the same as if I typed it directly into bash?
