Audio issue -system keeps swapping between devices when audio file is playing?
So I have a Behringer XR-18 as a USB audio device, and it works well when using it in the DAW. However I have just had a need to start running some audio files (in this case, MP3) and sound kept going on an off, so I checked in settings.
What is happening is the system keeps "chopping and changing" between the Behringer and the system. It's playing on Audacious and the bit where it has Audacious running on: swaps between the XR18 and Polaris (oh I'm running Manjaro Pahvo). And then occasionally the message pops up "attempting to connect to PulseAudio"and it goes glitchy again.
Nothing else is open or running on the system. In fact I re-booted just to make sure.
Is this an issue with Audacious, the system, the Linux audio drivers???
This is a new one on me. I have an idea on troubleshooting this, though.
Try starting Audacious from the command line, then playing some audio. Some useful error messages might be thrown to the terminal.
Thanks.
Interesting, I did that, it went the last file I loaded, I pressed play, and.....no issues at all it played all the way through...but when I either double click the audio track, or select open with, it glitches again???
Haha, maybe I should just start audacious from the CLI?!
Nope, I spoke too soon! Issue happened when I tried running from CLI...must be something not setup correctly to cause it to constantly re-scan/load audio driver being used.
