Any MTs using Linux?

Hi all!

I am completely new to Linux (less than a week) and have spent much of that time trying to get my computer back to the point I can work with it - Vista had a complete meltdown.

Anyway, I am in my last month of medical transcription training and am scrambling to replace the programs I need, mainly a text expander and medical dictionary.

If there are any MTs out there who are successfully using Linux, I would love to hear about it! The thought of having to go back to Windows for a couple of necessary programs is depressing...
