I wanted to know what people's general opinions are on the pros and cons of both Intel's Core Duo processors and AMD's dual core 64-bit procs and which one is currently better.
I've never used either myself, but I've read that the Core Duo has a surprising performance advantage that brings it above AMD's 64 X2's. I've been trying to find out the truth behind this as well. Soon I am either going to buy a laptop with the Turion X2 (coming soon) or a MacBook with the Core Duo.
toms hardware guide just did an article on this same thing. Basically the AMD 64 X2 is still superior, but the Core duo is very efficient taking into account power consumption.
