Hi, does anyone know how i can get age of empires to work (i know its the enemy's microsoft's game but, its the best game)) on my rh8 system? I have wine and i try to install but i get a list of .dlls and then it stops , are there better emulators then wine??? if so what are they and where can i dload them from?
Might work, it is better able to handle DirectX games.
I have read several articles in the past that led me to believe that M$ specifically tests their games against Wine and WineX to ensure that they will not operate on Linux. I don't know how true this is, but you might be out of luck.
Distribution: Slackware 9.x, Knoppix, Damn Small Linux, RedHat.

You SHOULDN'T suggest warez site links on this site, furthermore you shouldn't suggest even USING warez, much more where to get them...
I'll have to do some searching for them.. They were posted on one of the other forums that I frequent a while back, maybe 6 or 8 months ago. I think it might have been on Linuxgames, but I'm not sure. The article was pretty good, it was very specific on DirectX calls that were incorporated into a M$ game even thought the game didn't use them. There was no hard evidence but the author was suggesting that M$ knew that WineX couldn't handle certain calls so they would include them in their game so that WineX wouldn't run them.
