I disagree with:

but would remain the same for any Linux distribution
This assumes I have a Debian-based distribution (and can use apt), and that I use GRUB. Pretty much all Slackware users wouldn't be able to follow this verbatim.

A couple of hours to complete? I just built kernel 4.3.0 on my low-power i3-4130T and it took 4 minutes 3 seconds.

Hey serverpoint.com. When you post content that you've essentially lifted from another source (with some editing down), you should give them credit. This credit should be in the form of a link, if possible.

Just SPAM disguised as dangerous*, out of date advice. This is not how to build a kernel for current Debian releases.

*When the plagiarised articles were in date they were, likely, OK but now this would be stupid to do.

Just posting in case anybody reads before the SPAM is removed.
