a doubt...

There is some problem with windows2000 in my PC and I have reinstall/repair it, will I have to reinstall RH8.0 ones again?

I heard that getting Linux to work after repair/reinstallation ofWin2k is difficult... I need to do repair the prob soon hence cannot spend much time to get my linux working... incase of a porblem...

How can I safely repair/reinstall win2k without disturbing RH8.0

Well, once you install, you can just reboot Redhat with either the boot disk you should have created or with the Redhat cd you installed with, booting into Rescue to make any changes and reload your boot loader you were using, etc.

I installed w2k on my box recently and didn't have a problem at all afterwards - just tell it to leave the mbr alone.

As Mike said , its mkbootdisk, for example

mkbootdisk <kernel_version>

for Red Hat 9

mkbootdisk 2.4.20-8

I'm not sure what the kernel version is for RH 8 , just follow the example when youve got it.
