I'm having trouble with WineX cvs in general, this is what i did and what happened:-

downloaded cvs files for WineX
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.winex.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/winex login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.winex.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/winex co wine

^^ that worked fine.

cd /home/jared/wine
tools/wineinstall

apparently everything compiled fine.

copying to my user directory

cp ~/.wine/config /home/jared -R
chown youruser: -R /home/jared/.wine

Then i configured WineX (not all my configuration shown, not important)

Drive C

"Path" = "/home/jared/win"
"Type" = "hd"
"Label" = "Hard Drive"
"Filesystem" = "win95"
etc. etc.

then i created the wine directories

mkdir -p "/home/jared/win/Program Files"
mkdir -p "/home/jared/win/windows/Fonts"
mkdir -p "/home/jared/win/windows/Start Menu/Programs"
mkdir -p "/home/jared/win/windows/system"
mkdir -p "/home/jared/win/windows/system32"

then i tried to run a .exe installation called astonia3.exe

wine /home/jared/astonia3.exe

it came up with this:

Nothing happened after that, i left it 3 hours and it stayed there. I tried using:-

winelauncher /home/astonia3.exe

it came up with a window saying it was going to attempt to run astonia3.exe, so i clicked okay.

in the terminal it had this:

after that nothing happened.

it is installed because ..
wine --version
WineX CVS

comes up.

Does anyone know what to do???

I really cant tell what your problem is....I had a lot of problems installing windows software in winex
but the same software installed quite clean using pure wine. Maybe you should gine a try with
wine.

i've tried wine, it worked perfectly...for applications...games didn't work, and winex didn't either :S
