Been messing with WineX for a little bit. Installed SC, and SC:Broodwar fine. The problem is when I run broodwar-> Goto Multiplayer-> Click on Battle.net -> It downloads the update fine, but WineX crashes and X windows freezes when it tries to install the update.
Has anyone encounterd this or does anyone have a workaround for this?

I've been playing Starcraft / Broodwar lately. I remember having a problem similar to yours. What I did is to download the update directly from battle net. I could install it manually, and from that point on I could join battle net.

Note the battle net interface is screwed quite a bit. It does not refresh properly. But still, I managed to join plenty of games and host many as well.

When entering a game (your own or not), click then drag around. It'll refresh the screen parts under your cursor. If you click while you hear the sound of the interface sliding in, 95% of the interface will paint correctly.

I played the single player campaign a bit and a lot of multiplayer. Besides the bnet interface issue, I have found no other.
