although I understand that you feel that way, it does seem quite illegal. Don't do it.

That's my first moral objection

the second one would be this: From within the community there is a "demand" for more games ported to linux. Now companies may try to port a game to linux and do so succesfully, but they will not keep on providing those games if they don't seem to have a public for them. And how do they know there is a public? -> Sales figures...
so if you want more games ported to linux, shell out some cash and get that game officially. It's only by supporting companies that DO publish their games for linux that more companies will follow this trend.

just my

i dont know of a mac emulator. i think hardware is harder to emulate then software, and emulation usually isnt very good (xmame is a VERY noteable exception).

Check the loki updates archives

for example

ftp://ftp.lokigames.com/pub/updates/sc3u/

download and extract the binaries. I would be suprised if you can get it working though.

I managed to do it going from linux to windows for a couple of games and that was a hastle
The data file layout may be different and then there is the handling of upper/lower case names .

Its a pity loki went under ( id rather have them still around and the blasted loki installer packaging deep sixed )

Quake3 is no problem to convert either way

As for licencing seems these days you own squat but the right to run the software you pay for, so i see no problem converting it to linux or that os if you have a legit copy.

Humanity will licence itself into extinction !
