What other PS1 emulator(s) are/is good ?

I have PCSXR, but I've been unable to get certain Roms to work with it. For some reason, every single NBA Live game, and I tried many from different years, wouldn't respond to my gamepad. However, every other game rom would.....
But in past years I could get the NBA Live games to work - ?

What other PS1 emulator(s) are/is good ?

Ubuntu lts user here.....
