Hey dude, where ya bin? CS and Q3 have native versions.

But for me, I'd want the NFS series, Civ series (both Sid Meir's and Activision's - I have Call to Power but would prefer CTP2 if it wasn't so ugly), Alpha Centauri, Destiny of the Doctors, Screamer, the Sims, the Sim series (starting from SimCity and SimEarth, and definately including SimLife, SimFarm and SimAnt), StarCraft, the Warcraft series (I've seen 1 and 2 for Linux and Mac, but not 3. I think they should be released as a jumbo pack.), all the games made by ErrorFree Software (http://errorfree.eu.org/), Descent 2 and probably a bunch more that I can't remember at the moment. Linux may have great software and even great games, but there are still a lot of things I miss.

Their are two games which I would like to see ported to Linux that are not being ported ,yet even thought I dual boot my Pc from both Gentoo Linux and Windows XP,

anyway, the two games are The following Final Fantasy XI Online Playing game,etc and offline type game.
And the Uru Ages beyond Myst , by Cyan I think , its the Next Pc Windows based Myst game that takes place after Myst and its a online based game too which also has a offline story mode to it,

those too I am getting for Christmas .

also The RealMyst its a 3D game based game on myst which was only ported for Windows. its a fun game in windows but Lacks being able to play in linux wine etc.. no current based programs can play them..
in linux. The RealMyst I have had for some time know and have heard if no current ports for playing it in Linux.

I also have Quake 1 and 3 and UT2003 which these ones do work fine in linux.but have no good plots , these games are or can easy get tired of playing them, because their just fighting based 3D games.

quake1 has a fine plot to me. if you want a plotless game, look at some racing sims. that doesnt mean i dont like racing sims, though . in fact, i love 'em.

I dont remember if I've allready posted here - so if i have, Im sorry.

Anyway; Games I would like to see run natively under linux must be:

- Half-Life 2
- Doom 3
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R
- Far Cry

And future games from:
- The Battlefield series (EA games)
- The Grand Theft Auto series (Take 2 or something..)

I really think its about time that companies that make games (..?) add support to run it just as good on linux natively, without having to use an emulator.

I must also say, that its sad that its not possible to run DirectX technologies under Linux. In a few years Linux will probably excist in so many homes, that DirectX will go down and under - if they dont do something about it today.

DirectX will probably be with us for quite some time, unfortunately.

Add to my list all Bullfrog games - Theme Park; Magic Carpet I, II; Syndicate (even the 1 level demo was excellent).

I may one day undertake a project to make a new Magic Carpet game - one that actually works properly - but I will write a chess program first. This is a bit off-topic, but anyone who can help me with AI algorithms will be most appreciated (I could just grab a chunk of code from gnuchess, but I'd rather understand it before I do).

Halo on linux would be a good idea, eventhough it's from Microsoft.

halo was only published by microsoft, bungie (the people who made us marathon: aleph one) was the actual developer.

But still halo wouldn't let it run itself on linux even with wine. I heard that you get errors when you try to run.

what about winex? i gotta try that demo... of course i wouldnt get it on my 28k connection...

I didn't read the entire thread, so I hope this question hasn't been asked: Does anybody know if the game Abe's Exodus is compatible with Linux?
