SteamCMD wont run

hi all - probly a very noobish problem here.

I'm trying to install and run steamCMD as per this page:

https://developer.valvesoftware.com/...ading_SteamCMD

I follow the steps and after making an account called steam I give it sudo rights with:
usermod -aG sudo username

Then I install steamCMD fine but it wont run.
After I link the executable I do this:

cd ~
steamcmd

The error I get is : "bash: steamcmd: command not found"

Thanks for any help

also if I type "./steamcmd"
I get:

ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/steam/ .steam/root' : No such file or directory
ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/steam/ .steam/steam' : No such file or directory
/home/steam .local/share/Steam/steamcmd/steamcmd.sh: line 38: 1468 Illegal instruction $DEBUGGER "$STEAMEXE" "$@"

I shud also add I'm running antix linux 21 cli only core version

I've never used Steam, can't comment or help running it. There is a problem with your Steam, though. This illegal instruction error, it tells either your steam installation is corrupted or your CPU is not capable of running it (CPU too old?).

No it "shud" not run. When executing like this then the executable must be on your $PATH, by default your home is not.
