RTCW + game code error

Hi all

I have wolf 1.41 running using the detonator drivers on Fedora - no probs

Single player working great but when i try to connect to a 1.41 server using the built in server search in the game I receive the following error

game code (ui.mp.i386.so) failed pre server check

I am fairly new to Linux but would appreciate some help

Any suggestions

Ok - update on the question

I have tried a clean install this time using the wolf 1.41 -3 full installer only and then copying the pak files

Same error - strange thing is the game installs fine but when i run my own server it reports it as 1.33 version - HOW - bearing in mind i only installed the 1.41 file this time ?

Any suggestions

Well thanks for the er non reply

Anyhows I've fixed the problem and thought i would post the response here

i found configuring 1.33 wolf a doddle but 1.41 causes some issues

Basically forget all this crap about not logging in as root - log as root to sort this out in the first place

get 1.33 working then download the latest pbweb version - make sure its the latest - there were some issues with segfaults in erlier versions for linux

run pbweb in the .wolf directory WHAT .wolf - nobody kindly mentioned that wolf exists in the install folder and in the .wolf folder

Its the .wolf folder whch is the key - also make sure you have auto downloads turned on in the game.

run the game from wolfmp at the command line only during all this process it seemed to help

connect to an osp server once you enable pb in the game and let it autodownload all the latest osp files - be a good idea to find a server running 0.9 and use that one

tweak your config wolfconfig_mp.cfg again found in the hidden .wolf directory and add any new maps to the other non hidden main wolf install folder

Well it finally works - thanks to those on here and other forums who tried to help - only hope this helps someone else too as this has taken nearly 3 weeks to sort out - still its a learning process
