Problem with Quake3 install


Hi,

I'm having a problem with Quake3 on Gentpp, when I run it I get the error:

This is driver me mad, I've installed nvidia-glx and added it to my XF86Config file and I also installed the latest nvidia driver when I installed Gentoo.

Anyone able to help?

well thats obviously an opengl problem, to be sure, when X runs, does the NVIDIA logo comes up ?

if it doesn't then the driver arent installed properly...

let me know so i can help

i have the exact same problem, and the NVIDIA logo does show when i start X

i think the nvidia logo show up even if ur using the open-source "nv" drivers. those do not support 3d-acceleration so u need to install the nvidia proprietry drivers from nvidia.com
