just to note, most people resolve this issue by simply uninstalling and re-installing the drivers,
also sometimes if you do ./nvidia-installer --update it will screw things up ..
you can just try different things like doing a driver rollback, or if your using an older one, do an upgrade .... in only takes about 30 seconds to install the drivers, so just doing a test like this wouldn't hurt, cause thats all you might need is a re-install
well it is a log file, and it will show me what your loading and what your not loading, and what is causing errors/warnings if any, and i will be able to spot out if there is something not there that should of been, etc .... so if you do get around to it and the uninstall/re-install doesn't work, then the whole log will be needed ...
while im rebooting my desktop machine, can you tell my why my screen is to the right when i boot to X, i have to adjust my settings, but before i type startx, or when i go into windows my screen in centered just fine, is it because i have the wrong monitor or hsync or something like that, cause they dont have my exact monitor
i just installed the new nvidia driver, and i get a black screen, even before i go into X, how to uninstall this new driver to go back to the old one....?
well you can go find the proper specs for you monitor and re-run xf86config
and specify them in the setup
or manually edit the XF86Config file and restart X and see if it helps ...
ok did you not just uninstall the old ones ? it would be the same procedure for whatever ones your using now...
you can also try something like Option "NvAGP" "1" <- if that don't work you can try the value of 0
in your config right under the entry that says Driver "nvidia"
oh so i assume you were using init 4?
i'd advise while doing stuff like this to edit your /etc/inittab and change the line that says
id:4:initdefault:
to say
id:3:initdefault:
just in case of times like these
